In this regard, it is submitted that the Petroleum Employees Union, Mumbai had filed a Writ Petition before the Hon’ble High Court at Mumbai challenging the unilateral implementation of the 21 days offshore duty pattern by ONGC Management for the period from 15.05.2026 to 20.09.2026.

Subsequently, the Hon’ble High Court was pleased to direct the matter to the Hon’ble Central Government Industrial Tribunal (CGIT), Nagpur for adjudication. Accordingly, the Hon’ble CGIT, Nagpur has passed an Order dated 15.05.2026, whereby it has been held that the employees/workmen performing offshore duty beyond the standard 14 days offshore duty cycle shall be entitled to overtime wages for the additional period of duty performed beyond standard 14 days offshore Duty.

In view of the above Order, I hereby place on record that any duty performed by me beyond 14 days offshore duty shall be treated as overtime duty and I am entitled to overtime wages/benefits according to aforesaid order.

Dear Colleagues,

As you are all aware, under the very difficult and challenging circumstances all the General Secretaries of Recognized Unions met with Corporate Management on 03 July and 4th July 2026 at Chennai in accordance with the Agenda submitted by AIOTUCC.

The Unions registered strong protest to the management on unilateral curtailment of PRBS Pension from 14.50% to 9.03% severely affecting our post retirement Social Security and striking heavy blow on our Pension Corpus.

This Unilateral decision of the management is in violation of the statutory obligations and the Coordination Committee has demanded to restore the PRBS Pension to 14.50% as earlier.

ED Chief ER has committed to take up the matter with the top Management along with other important pending issues.

As per the programme schedule on 03.07.2026, a workshop on new labour reforms was conducted by the respected DyCLC(Central), Chennai.

On 04.07.2026,
R&P Working Committee meeting took place in line with Agenda submitted by AIOTUCC. Meeting started with the opening address of the ED Chief HRD after which a fruitful discussion took place, management taken note of the R&P issues submitted by
All General Secretaries and assured to work for their expeditious outcome. Unions were able to achieve positive outcome on some issues amidst prevailing challenging environment.

Detailed outcome of the meeting will be explained/ shared by General Secretaries at respective locations.

Attention all :

Petroleum Employees Union, Mumbai is fighting a legal battle against the unjust 21-day duty pattern during the monsoon.
In this regard, the Hon. CGIT Nagpur delivered a historic judgment on May 15, 2026, stating that “workers must be paid overtime (OT) for the 7 days from the 15th to the 21st day.”

The management has approached the
Hon. Bombay High Court against this decision of the Hon.CGIT.
The hearing for this case took place on June 22, 2026, in the Hon. Bombay High Court. Since the union received the petition just two days ago, the union’s lawyers requested a next date to get time to file the reply to the petition.

Accordingly, the next hearing will be held on Tuesday July 14, 2026, in the Hon. Bombay High Court.

बंधू आणि भगिनींनो,

मान्सुन मधील २१ दिवसांच्या अन्यायकारी ड्युटी पॅटर्न विरोधात फक्त पेट्रोलियम एम्प्लाईज युनियन, मुंबई कायदेशीर लढा देत आहे. या संदर्भात मा. CGIT नागपुर यांनी १५ मे २६ रोजी ” कामगारांना १५ ते २१ या ०७ दिवसांचा ओटी दयावा लागेल ” असा ऐतिहासिक निर्णय दिला आहे.

व्यवस्थापनाने मा. CGIT च्या सदर निर्णया विरुद्ध मा. मुंबई हायकोर्टात धाव घेतली आहे. दि.२२.०६.२०२६ सदर प्रकरणाची सुनावणी मा. मुंबई हायकोर्टात झाली. यासंदर्भात फक्त ०२ दिवसांपूर्वीच पीटीशन प्राप्त झाल्याने युनियनच्या वकिलांनी पीटीशन ला उत्तर देण्यासाठी वेळ मिळावा म्हणुन पुढील तारीख मागितली, त्यानुसार पुढील सुनावणी मंगळवार दि. १४.०७.२०२६ रोजी मा. मुंबई हायकोर्टात होणार आहे.
