Historic Victory for the Petroleum Employees Union’s Fight !
The Petroleum Employees Union has been consistently fighting for our rights and safety. On June 25, 2025, the Union had given a strike notice regarding the delay in distribution of protective equipment (PPE) and other serious issues.
Alarmed by the strike notice, on July 1, 2025, the management held a meeting with the Petroleum Employees Union. In that meeting, the Union firmly expressed its strong protest against the delay in providing protective equipment to workers. The management assured that this issue would be resolved immediately.
Today, that Fight has achieved concrete success. By fulfilling the assurance, formal approval has been granted in the 669th MCoD meeting (August 28, 2025, New Delhi). According to this decision, a centralized rate contract will be implemented for the next three years. Under this contract, protective equipment will be procured only from the top three reputed companies in the country.
The centralized contract includes the following protective equipment:
- Industrial and electrical-resistant safety boots
- Cotton coverall (ready-made)
- Fire-resistant coverall
- Helmet
- Impact- and cut-resistant gloves
- Safety goggles
- Ear muffs
- Ear plugs
As a result, workers will now have access to high-quality, certified, and reliable safety equipment. Also, instructions have been issued to cancel all existing contracts with previous suppliers.

प्रिय बंधू आणि भगिनींनो,
पेट्रोलियम एम्प्लॉईज युनियनच्या लढ्याला ऐतिहासिक यश!
आपल्या हक्कांसाठी व सुरक्षिततेसाठी पेट्रोलियम एम्प्लॉईज युनियन सातत्याने संघर्ष करत आली आहे. संरक्षण साधनांच्या (PPE) वितरणातील दिरंगाई व इतर गंभीर विषयांवर पेट्रोलियम एम्प्लॉईज युनियनने २५ जून, २०२५ रोजी संपाची नोटीस दिली होती.
त्यानंतर दिलेल्या संप नोटीशीचा धसका घेत ०१ जुलै, २०२५ रोजी व्यवस्थापनाने पेट्रोलियम एम्प्लॉईज युनियन सोबत बैठक घेतली. त्या बैठकीत युनियनने ठाम भूमिका मांडून कामगारांना संरक्षण साधनांच्या विलंबामुळे नोंदविलेला कठोर निषेध स्पष्टपणे मांडला. त्यावेळी व्यवस्थापनाने आश्वासन दिले होते की हा प्रश्न तातडीने निकाली काढला जाईल.
आज त्या संघर्षाला ठोस यश प्राप्त झाले आहे. व्यवस्थापनाने दिलेले ते आश्वासन पूर्ण करून MCoDच्या ६६९ व्या बैठकीत (२८ ऑगस्ट २०२५, नवी दिल्ली) औपचारिक मंजुरी मिळवली आहे. या निर्णयानुसार येणाऱ्या तीन वर्षांसाठी केंद्रीकृत दर करारनामा केला जाणार आहे. या करारनाम्यानुसार केवळ देशातील अव्वल तीन नामांकित कंपन्यांकडूनच संरक्षण साधनांची खरेदी केली जाणार आहे.
केंद्रीकृत करारनाम्यात खालील संरक्षण साधनांचा समावेश आहे :
१) औद्योगिक व विद्युत विरोधक सुरक्षा बूट
२) कापडी डांगरी (रेडी मेड)
३) अग्निरोधक डांगरी
४) हेल्मेट
५) हातमोजे इंपॅक्ट व कट प्रतिरोधक
६) सुरक्षा चष्मे
७) कान संरक्षक (मफ्स)
८) कानात लावायचे इयर प्लग
यामुळे कामगारांना उच्च दर्जाची, प्रमाणित व खात्रीशीर सुरक्षा साधने उपलब्ध होणार आहेत. तसेच यापूर्वीच्या सर्व वितरकांशी असलेले करार रद्द करण्याचे निर्देश देण्यात आले आहेत.
बंधूंनो-भगिनींनो,
हा विजय म्हणजे आपल्या युनियनच्या एकतेचा, संघर्षाचा आणि निर्धाराचा आहे. व्यवस्थापनालाही आपल्या लढ्यापुढे झुकावं लागलं व आपले आश्वासन पूर्ण करावे लागले, हे याचे जिवंत उदाहरण आहे. हा विजय केवळ कामगारांच्या सुरक्षेचा नाही तर त्यांच्या सन्मानाचा व हक्कांचा आहे.
